The implementation of sustainable development concept in strategy of the largest city (case of St. Petersburg)

The degree work on a subject «The implementation of the sustainable development concept in the strategy of the largest city (case of St. Petersburg)» is devoted to the study of theoretical and practical aspects of strategic planning to form proposals for the sustainable development of cities with a population above one million people. The definition of the largest city is formed, the role of the sustainable development paradigm is proved, the categories of sustainable development of the largest city are identified. The methodological aspects of the choice of priorities in the strategy of a million-plus city are analyzed: document generation algorithm, methods for selecting and evaluating priorities. The research of the strategy St. Petersburg's in the context of sustainable development is conducted: the integral indices of sustainable development of the spheres for 12 years are calculated, content analysis of five strategic documents is conducted. The recommendations for a balanced implementation of the concept in the strategies of the largest city are articulated.
