This paper presents an analysis of the regulation of investment cooperation in trade agreements of the European Union. Investment activity plays an important role in the development of the European Union. Trade agreements are one of the main instruments for regulating investment cooperation of the European Union with third countries. Agreement issues that are not related to investment activities are not included in the agreements of the European Union and are subject to regulation in accordance with the treaties of the Member States of the European Union. The European Union received the right to make decisions in the field of investment policy. In a cross-border economy, foreign investment makes a huge contribution to the development of the economy. The European Union is one of the participants in the international investment exchange. At the same time, about 80% of the rules and regulations governing modern international trade operate in accordance with EU and US legislation. Thus, it is necessary to consider the issue of regulating investment cooperation in trade agreements with the participation of the European Union, as well as that the European Union is one of the foremost members of trade policy, thanks to whose experience best practices are developed. The object of this work is investment cooperation, the subject - the trade agreements of the European Union. The hypothesis is that investment promotes mutual trade. The goal is to show that the European Union’s trade agreements with third countries present general issues that are not regulated by the WTO.
