Fairclough, where discourse is understood as a way of representing the world. The theoretical part of the study presents the main theories and approaches to the analysis of media and socially important phenomena. The empirical base of the study consists of 147 articles covering the retirement reform, published in the media in the period from 28.04.18 to 18.02.19. Data collection was carried out using the keywords "retirement reform" in news sources. In the research there were the strategies taken by the new media in the formation of the discourse around the retirement reform analyzed. With the help of content analysis, the linguistic features of the constructed discourse were identified. Discourse analysis in this study was used to determine the cultural and value features of the concept.
