Large-Scale Gasification of Moscow in the Post-War Period: Economy and Social Consequences
History
(Bachelor’s programme)
2019
This study is dedicated to large-scale gasification of Moscow in the post-war period. Many researchers have examined the history of the construction of the Saratov-Moscow gas pipeline. However, most authors have focused on the economic aspect of this huge project and neglected the social consequences of the gasification of the Soviet capital. Drawing on a broad range of sources, including official documents, periodicals and sources of personal origin, this research presents a comprehensive analysis of the living conditions of Muscovites in the post-war period.
