The Development of the Multimodal Transportation of the Oversized Drilling Equipment along «Sabetta – New Urengoy» Route

In recent years, in the transport logistics industry project cargo transportation, which allows transporting the most complex types of cargo over any distance, is becoming widespread. This paper presents the development of a project for the multimodal transportation of an oversized drilling rig "Sabetta – New Urengoy" (through the city of Arkhangelsk), which is carried out by the logistics operator “ASG” in the context of the 3PL - model of project freight. Within the framework of the project, it was carried out the routing of transportation and it was calculated the cost of two freight traffic – by a barge and a truck and also it was developed a special project for the transportation of oversized cargo on the route Arkhangelsk – New Urengoy. In addition, it was carried out the identification and risk assessment of cargo transportation on the route Arkhangelsk - New Urengoy, which allowed developing project risk management strategies.
