The Guangzhou Uprising is of great importance for the history of the CPC as the first appearance of the Chinese Communists under Soviet slogans. Due to the serious influence of Moscow and the Soviet advisers on the leaders of the CPC and their policies, this event received various assessments in Soviet, Chinese and Russian historiography. In this paper, an analysis of the causes, progress and results of the uprising, as well as, on the basis of the historical-genetic method, evaluations of events in sources from different countries are revealed. Using the historical-comparative method, the nature and sequence of changes of views and interpretations of these events that dominate in the literature in the various periods are assessed.
