Year of Graduation: 2019

The research aims to analyze the influence of corporate governance factors on capital structure, in particular debt ratio in major Russian companies taking part in stock market. Previous studies on this topic have shown that there is both a negative and a positive relationship between certain indicators of corporate governance and the debt ratio in foreign companies. Information about the activities of Russian companies in diverse sectors for the last several years was used in the given research. Moreover, linear regression method with the help of Eviews package was used as well for carrying out the research. As a result, the relationship between such indicators as Ownership Type (Government) and the Board Meetings was revealed. There was not found any significant correlation between other indicators of corporate governance and the level of debt. It could happen due to the lack of the information and the corporate governance is not fully developed in our country.
