This thesis focuses on examining the impact of the environment on health of Russian citizens. Research on the topic on the relationship between mortality and weather conditions has been common considering parts of the world that are not Russia. This is mostly related to the lack of access to necessary data, variations in climate across the territory of the Russian Federation and complicated estimations of mortality rates in short time periods. The aim of this research paper is to estimate the impact of such weather-related indicators as humidity and temperature on the number of deaths in Saint-Petersburg, applying monthly data on mortality and weather conditions to the study. Tasks relevant for the research include gaining access to necessary databases, implementing correct aggregations of data (that are in line with techniques used by other researchers) and interpreting the methods which were used in estimations of the study.
