Shifts in Traditions and Culture of Addictive Goods Consumption in China

The structure of the work is formed in accordance with the purpose and objectives of this study. The paper consists of an introduction, three chapters, conclusion, list of references and appendices. The First Chapter is devoted to the peculiarities of the addictive consumer and his behavior in the market, rationality and irrationality of addictive consumer behavior, physiological and psychological causes of human propensity to consume addictive products. In addition, the author analyzes the prerequisites for the emergence of addictive behavior and the desire to use addictive goods among Chinese residents through the historical beginning of the formation of addictive needs, as well as through the events of Opium Wars that imposed their mark on the culture of consumption of addictive goods in China. The Second Chapter describes the main characteristics of addictive consumer behavior in China, changes in the moral base and values of Chinese people due to the impact of various factors, including cultural shock, shifts in needs due to the change of traditional role models for new idols. The Third Chapter reveals the specifics of the consumption of addictive goods in China on the example of alcohol and tobacco products, including the problems arising from changes in the culture and traditions inherent in the daily life of the Chinese, as well as the negative consequences of these changes.
