The purpose of the study is to study the relationship between the level of professional burnout of the Federal Executive Body employees with the features of protective mechanisms and coping strategies. The objectives of this study are: 1. Diagnosis of professional burnout, psychological defenses and coping strategies. 2. Analysis of the severity of professional burnout, psychological defenses and coping strategies. 3. Identification of the relationship of the level of civil servants professional burnout with the features of protective mechanisms and coping strategies. According to the results of the study, the interrelation of the level of civil servants professional burnout with the features of protective mechanisms and coping strategies was revealed. The results of the study showed that most of the respondents demonstrate an average level of emotional exhaustion. One third of the respondents were diagnosed with an average level of depersonalization and reduction of personal achievements. It was found that problem-oriented coping is considered the most constructive, it helps individuals to successfully solve the problem, and thus get rid of the very cause of a stressful situation. On the other hand, our respondents used emotionally-oriented coping and avoidance-oriented coping less, so it seems less constructive. The “denial” protective mechanism is significantly positively associated with professional burnout, and professional burnout is negatively associated with such protective mechanisms as “compensation”, “replacement”, “rationalization”, and “overcompensation”. The data obtained in the work can be used to develop programs of psychological support for employees of the federal executive body in order to reduce the risk of the formation of a professional burnout syndrome.
