Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards in Russia: Evolvement of the Public Policy Concept

The paper is devoted to the issue of recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards in Russia with detailed analysis of the public policy concept as the ground for refusal of such recognition and enforcement. For the purpose of the topic's covering, the author describes the fundamental principles of international commercial arbitration and considers the general aspects of recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitral awards in Russia. The author pays special attention to the public policy concept, which is defined and analyzed as a ground for refusal of recognition and enforcement of foreign arbitral award abroad and in the Russian Federation. In the latter case, the author focuses on the evolvement of the public policy concept and considers, inter alia, the latest case law on this category.
