ABSTRACT Master thesis on " The Choice Between Export and Licensing Made by the Global Tobacco Companies on the European Market by the Example of CNTC and Philip Morris companies". Made by 2nd-year student, Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs, International Business program, Polina Kulakova. In recent years, there is an evident growth of interest concerning the tobacco industry and global companies here. Nowadays there exists a wide set of challenges in the business environment. What is more, it is really useful to know about the ongoing business processes in the tobacco industry in order to avoid common issues for the future and make the international business environment more sustainable. The potential global tobacco and cigarette market is highly attractive for the majority of experts and entrepreneurs. In this particular master work, we will mainly focus on the research of market entry strategies in the tobacco industry. We analyzed and studied historical aspects of global tobacco companies, tobacco, and cigarette trade markets and the background for future choice concerning market entry strategy. It is crucially important to find the right strategy for running business and to know is it more beneficial to change it in the modern business sphere. The study will employ comparative and theoretical analyses. We will take into account a wide information base, which includes domestic and foreign literature, Internet resources and statistics. More specifically, we will explore the European tobacco market with the aim to identify key features for entering foreign companies. Therefore, this research is relevant and significant for understanding the real situation in the potential tobacco sector and to see which strategy companies use and why they choose it.
