This work is devoted to the study of the role of gender in decision making of employer’s choice. The sample consisted of 600 people who were in search of work or are currently looking for work. Online survey was used to test the hypotheses, consisting of a set of methods: Questionnaire for studying the image of the company-employer K.S. Akamova (modification by N.L. Ivanova and D.I. Moshinskaya), Melbourne decision-making questionnaire (adaptation by T.V. Kornilova), Melbourne Decision Questionnaire, modified by us, the Sex-Role Questionnaire (S. Bem). We found out that the questionnaire adapted by us is reliable and can be used to study the productive and unproductive styles in decision making of employer’s choice. 4 factors were identified, which corresponds to the structure of the decision questionnaire of T.V. Kornilova: 4 latent variables / factors: productive (vigilance) and unproductive (avoidance, procrastination, orientation to the opinions of others). It was found that the decision-making process in life and the decision-making process when people looking for work are similar and interrelated. Gender is not a determining factor when choosing an employer. Femininity is interconnected with the social responsibility of the company, the opportunity for professional growth is interconnected with masculinity. In addition, femininity is interrelated with a focus on the opinions of others when making decisions about choosing an employer.
