Аn analysis of the feminine unconscious was carried out using the image of the main heroine of the novel “Madame Bovary” by Gustave Flaubert in this master's work. In the theoretical part the question of the formation of scientific and psychoanalytic thought in the field of "feminine" was considered, an analysis of works devoted to issues of female identity was carried out. In the practical part the specific features of the "feminine" were revealed, the specificity of the image of the main character of the novel was comprehended.
