Complex Social Analysis
(Master’s programme)
2019
The final qualifying work presents the results of the study of the register of the language of science in the context of confidence in it. Continuing the tradition of study of trust in the social Sciences (E. Giddens, N. Luhmann, P. Sztompka) and language as a special socio-linguistic phenomenon (B. Bieber), addresses the issues of availability of the relationships between objects in the sociology of scientific communications.

The theoretical basis of this study showed possible indicators of confidence in science, and also outlined the contours of the empirical case, the essence of which was to conduct a factorial experimental survey (online experiment). Based on the analysis of the data obtained, the language register can be considered a factor of confidence in science, because in addition to its availability, there is a tendency to diversify the impact depending on the subject of scientific communication. Of particular significance, the register takes in the case when the topic scientific news "distant" from everyday life to the public.
