Mytishchi is a northeastern satellite of Moscow with a population of more than two hundred thousand people. It was first mentioned as a village in 1460 and already at that time it was an important transportation hub, at which the tax duty was levied. In 1925, Mytishchi received city status. Now Mytishchi located in the shadow of Moscow, often deprived of the attention of researchers, but still represent a unique cultural phenomenon, formed over many centuries of its history. In the fate of the city and its inhabitants, we see a reflection of the history of the country.
