Student: Fedorenko Victoria

Supervisor: Alexei Gloukhov

Faculty: Faculty of Humanities

Educational Programme: Philosophy (Bachelor)

Year of Graduation: 2019

The final thesis is dedicated to the role that aura plays in Walter Benjamin's political philosophy. The concept of aura is one of the most important aspects of Benjamin's aesthetics, but its' understanding is norrow. We are going to show that the role of aura in Benjamin's political philosophy is wider than aestheticization of politics and politicization of art. This substantiates the relevance of my work. The main Benjamin's texts that I am going to use are 'The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction' and 'On the concept of history', but other his texts will be used as well. I am going to show that the experience of aura leads to realization of the political potential of present moment.
