The paper highlights the concept of “best HR practices” through the analysis of approaches to HPWP and the empirical data analysis. The study is conducted on the materials of the contest "People Investors" in 2016, 2017 and 2018. The problem of the lack of qualitative knowledge of modern HR practices that can be attributed to the best (highly effective) in terms of organizational effectiveness, and assumed in Russian companies, is raised and discussed. As a result of the study, such characteristics of the practice as the reasons for implementation, goals and objectives of the implementation, barriers and communication with the target audience of the project are revealed, recommendations are given to management and further areas of work are indicated.
