The collections of miracles of Saint Demetrius created in the 7th century in Thessaloniki contain important evidence about the Slavic resettlement in the Balkan Peninsula. However, this research considers different aspects of information, presented in the collections of the miracles of Saint Demetrius, and uses the interdisciplinary methodology for highlighting the increasingly popular issue of urban identities. The present research, therefore, aims to establish the practices and symbols that existed in the Thessaloniki city identity system in the 6th-7th centuries.
