The thesis "Music as an Expression of the World's Essence in the Philosophy of A. Schopenhauer" is devoted to the study of a completely different approach by XIX century that explains the world and the laws of nature. This wave appeared with A. Schopenhauer and is called irrationalism. So, the philosopher built his voluntaristic metaphysics. The purpose of this work was to show that the essence of the world is closely connected with the sensual world of man. To achieve it, we have set ourselves the following tasks. First, to introduce the basics of musical creativity within the framework of philosophical knowledge and determine its value, due to which we can call music as an important part of the world, as well as trace its historical development. Secondly, to form the categories of musical thinking in the philosophy of Schopenhauer and apply them to a voluntaristic concept. Third, to provide the alternative versions of Nietzsche, Wagner, and contemporary philosophers to show the development and breadth of research. Finally, conduct a comparative analysis of selected thinkers to emphasize the differences between Schopenhauer and determine how music integrates into the essence of the world. As a result, we can conclude that irrational thinking has a right to be included in the whole philosophical system, through which philosophers can explain the will and the world in general. Music is not only entertainment but also opens deep, genuine thoughts and meanings of being. We have described two completely opposite approaches to the world's understanding - pessimistic and optimistic. Of course, each of them does not provide reliable and comprehensive knowledge of the world. But we hope that with the help of this researcher, people will relate to art, in particular to music, more consciously.
