The purpose of this work is to study (visual), based on the search for examples of the design, coloring of the so-called livery of urban public vehicles in some European cities; and trying to explain what this choice is based on. Anticipating the results of the work - searching for answers to the choice of city livery we will try to look for in the features of corporate identity, urban and regional heraldry, legends, principles, attitude to historical facts. A particular color, ornament, pattern, other image can be borrowed, inherited from heraldry and be a continuation of the local history in an attempt to emphasize local identity, or vice versa - made in the corporate style and color, or selected based on taste preferences and not associated with the first two examples. The result should be the conclusion, the conclusion why we need a special livery of urban transport, a particular style in design, and what goals this allows to achieve. In preparation for the work, a preliminary acquaintance with the geography of European cities was made. Cities were selected among the four conventionally accepted parts for Europe: North (British Isles and Scandinavia), West and Central, East (including the Baltic states) and South. In each of the mentioned areas, large and at the same time representative examples of the same type were chosen at the same time, which will allow to form a more objective picture for the European space.
