Model of Minimization of Internal Logistic Costs of an Internet Retailer
Finance
(Master’s programme)
2019
The research question of master's work is to assess the economic feasibility of changing the share of goods sent to stores. This study was conducted for the Ulmart, one of the leading online retailers in Russia. The purpose of this master's thesis is to build and test an equation to minimize the cost of moving goods between warehouses and points of issue of goods in the online store. The object of the study is the cost of storing and moving goods between warehouses and points of issue of goods in the online store. The relevance of the study lies in the need for the division of goods distribution to reduce the cost of moving and storing goods. Distinctive features of this study are the study of the logistic mechanisms of a particular store and cost reduction on the example of specific data.

To achieve this goal, a brief overview of the existing theoretical framework in related areas of logistics is given, and a review of several models that take into account logistics costs has been compiled. The second step describes Yulmart, his problems and existing logistic processes. Also, an equation of logistic costs, which is relevant to Yulmart data, is constructed, which allows us to determine the optimal distribution of goods between stores.
