n this paper, the phenomenon of conforming, as well as social influence is viewed through the lens of psychoanalysis using the example of the American show “Who is America”. Most of the research work is devoted to a detailed analysis of the phenomenon of conformity in the modern realities of provocation in three-dimensional space: 1) analysis of the personality structure of the creator and star of the show in all provocative roles from the point of view of the structural organization of his personality; 2) analysis of three videos with the participation of leaders in their fields, who do not suspect that they are participating in the provocative show filming, presumably invited to a regular interview on the topic of their interest. This issue is considered from the point of view of the activation of their intrapersonal conflicts when they find themselves in an imposed fantasy reality, their ability or inability to cope with the imposed hoax perversion is being studied; 3) the creation of the author's survey in Russian and English languages and analysis of the results from the point of view, firstly, of the audience' emotional component, and secondly - of the relevance of the issue of provocations as a social phenomenon in the society.
