Right to the Сity: Assembly of the Assemblage for the Struggle for the Soundscape

This dissertation devotes to the process of the struggle for the soundscape, which inhabitants want to have in the place of their living. Theoretical optics is based on intuitions of actor-network theory by B. Latour , on assemblage theory by M. Delanda and on the right to the city conception. In the empirical part the author describes two types of assemblages which was assembled through the process of the struggle for the soundscape – the formal-legal which is based on the ontological interpretation of the right to the city as the right to the soundscape which means that sound has to correspond to legal norms; and the applied which is based on the deontological understanding, which means that soundscape has to correspond to inhabitants whishes. Moreover this dissertation contains the comparative analysis of these two types of assemblages through three indications – territorization \ deterritorization, materiality \ expressiveness, coding \ decoding – includes explication of key differences and similarities.
