Using the Guidebook for the Adaptation of Foreign Language Students Emelianov Kirill Vladimirovich Abstract The principal objective of this paper is to create a model of a guidebook around Basmannaya area to accelerate and facilitate the process of adaptation of foreign students. The concept of the guidebook is based on the analysis of results of the survey of foreign students which is aimed at identifying respondents' preferences of sightseeing choice. The substantive content of the model is based on the projects completed earlier which are the creation of an audio guide around the Basmannaya area and the guidebook around Moscow “Enjoy Moscow with us”. Each potential object of the guidebook model was considered in terms of positive influence on achieving successful acculturation of representatives of the target audience in an unfamiliar cultural environment. This model can be used to create guides around campuses or buildings of other universities in different cities of Russia where foreign students study.
