Poetry, calligraphy, and painting are acknowledged as the three perfections of Chinese art. Their role in Chinese painting has been widely recognized throughout the world, especially in literati painting, the application of poetry on Qianjiang porcelain is the result of the comprehensive influence of the intrinsic characteristics of painted porcelain decoration and the invasion of literati painting. Every application can be traced back either to previous porcelain or to literati painting.
