Nowadays there is a number of problems in the country's oil and gas assets, such as: the depletion of oil reserves due to the natural reduction of deposits, a decrease in the reserves of new oil fields due to the complex mining and geological conditions of production, as well as the global trend of falling oil recovery rates. That’s why the way of improving operating efficiency should become a priority challenge to mining companies. In this study, will be comprehensively analyzed existing methods and approaches to modeling the factors responsible for the operational efficiency of companies. Also, there will be constructed models using the boundary nonparametric method (DEA) to identify the significant factors on which the success and effectiveness of oil and gas companies in Russia is based.
