In recent years, much attention has been paid to the study of employment and its features in Russia. It's not accidental, because this aspect of a country's life not only directly affects its economic and social situation, but also develops rapidly, undergoing various changes year after year. In addition, there are many individual features of employment in Russia, which inevitably affect not only the sphere of employment, but also the sphere of the shadow economy, and education. First of all, the basic concepts and indicators of employment were analyzed, the features of employment and its structure in the Russian Federation were studied, and the dynamics of the main indicators were presented. A statistical analysis of employment factors was carried out and two regression models were constructed, demonstrating the interrelation of indicators of employment and growth of gross domestic product. The reason why so much attention is paid to labor market research is the sensitivity of this indicator to the level of the current state and economic development. Correlation and regression analysis showed that the level and factors of employment do affect the GDP. Efficient use of labor resources can bring the country's economy to a higher level. The study showed that the informal sector of the economy and the institute of education also play a large role in this process.
