Historical settlement is a place of concentration of historical and cultural potential that can become a driver of spatial development. The Institute of historical settlement is responsible for the protection of historical and cultural heritage. In the context of urbanization, the presence of such a factor has the ability to form a conflict between development and encumbrance (preservation), in such a situation, the emphasis should be correctly placed on the impact on the territory and in its management. The final qualifying work is aimed at changing the attitude to the Institute of historical settlement and presenting recommendations for harmonization of the Institute of historical settlement and spatial development.

The full text of a thesis can be published in open access on the HSE website only if the authoring student (copyright holder) agrees, or, if the thesis was written by a team of students, if all the co-authors (copyright holders) agree.
