The purpose of the research is to conduct a comprehensive statistical analysis of the investment attractiveness of the Russian regions in dynamics and to identify the factors that influence this indicator. The paper consists of three chapters. The first chapter discusses various approaches to the study of the investment attractiveness of regions and countries, as well as methods for assessing the investment attractiveness of a territory. Further, in the first chapter, an economic analysis of the investment climate in Russia is carried out in dynamics, and the main trends in the development of indicators such as the volume of gross investment and the inflow of foreign investment are considered. In the second chapter, a regression analysis of data on investments in fixed capital per capita by constituent entities of the Russian Federation in 2017 is carried out, and factors affecting this indicator are identified. In the third chapter, the entire set of regions is divided into clusters according to their socio-economic indicators, and the factors most influencing the inflow of investments in fixed capital per capita in each selected class of regions are identified. In addition, the third chapter analyzes investment in fixed assets by constituent entities of the Russian Federation on panel data (from 2014 to 2017) and identifies the factors that determine the inflow of investments in fixed capital in Russia after the 2014 crisis and the annexation of the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol . The work can be used to identify possible ways to improve the investment climate for regions with low indicators of investment attractiveness and to pursue policies that encourage investment in certain subjects.
