Research Into the Determinants of a Manager`s Emotional Intelligence Development

Emotional intelligence is a relatively new scientific area and it is of particular interest in the business environment. It is generally accepted that high emotional intelligence signifies excellent communication skills, effectiveness and high performance in most cases. The main purpose of the project is to evaluate the emotional intelligence of HR managers, to examine its interrelation with other soft skills and to provide certain recommendations for developing it. There is no doubt that employees are the main organizational resource and every worker needs an individual communicational and behavioural approach. Emotional intelligence allows leaders to find out the most appropriate way to communicate with subordinates and to increase the effectiveness of interaction processes. The following study revealed to evaluating the levels of emotional intelligence and soft skills needed for successful HR managers, examining interrelations between components of emotional intelligence and soft skills and offering the emotional intelligence development system that considers interrelations with other competencies.
