In today's labor market, companies strive to be as efficient as possible, and therefore they should be competent in their work with staff, namely its motivational component. To achieve the best results, it is important for a company to understand what motivates its employees, especially of different ages. Today there are 4 generations on the labour market, each of which is different in behavior, values, etc. However, many organisations do not pay attention to this situation and use old and same methods in motivating their staff. Thus, the aim of this study is to identify the main motivation factors of different generations. To do this, we conducted a survey by Zamecnik’s methodology. Also, we analysed the company’s motivation system by interviews and documentation analysis. During this study we identified differences in the main factors of motivation among the generations of baby boomers, X and Y. We also found the shortcomings of the current motivation system in the company and developed recommendations for its improvement. The results of this study may be useful for line managers when working with employees of different ages, as well as for the company's personnel department in order to improve existing motivation tools.
