Social Effect of Renovation: Resources of Solidarity of Moscow Citizens

The paper reviewed the main approaches and concepts that are applicable to the analysis of the process of solidarity of neighboring communities, in the framework of the urban mega project of space reconstruction and resettlement - Moscow renovation. Projects of reorganization of space and resettlement and social consequences for urban communities and neighborhoods that may entail such projects are analyzed. The practices of neighborhood interactions regarding the solution of collective housing issues are analyzed. It presents an approach to the analysis of neighborhood solidarity and cohesion in the situation of renovation, as well as forms of solidarity, signs and practices of self-organization of citizens that can be identified using qualitative methodology. The study suggests an analysis of cases (houses to be renovated), identifies resources for solidarizing citizens in the situation of renovating their homes, and builds a typology of solidarization scenarios based on the identified resources.
