Malevich: Visual Introspection

The main concept of the diploma project is to express subjective interpretation of the art and philosophical ideas of K. Malevich in multimedia modern visual art forms. It will give a new vision of Russian avant-garde classic. K. Malevich's philosophical ideas and his suprematism are wildly known and cited. However Malevich’s texts are difficult to study. As these texts are going to be relevant part of the video project, they will be represented through sound, plot, visuals metaphors and animated forms. The main objective of the project is an attempt to collect all art experience connected with Malevich art and ideas and represent a new viewpoint. To successfully achieve assigned results, there is a secondary task, which objective is to do the visual research. It helps to analyze the degree of influence of the Russian avant-garde on the artwork of contemporary artists, to evaluate its art relevance and possible forms of existence in another unrelated context and use the obtained results as a background of the main project. To archive required result, it was to study art catalogues of contemporary artists and critical materials. During searching and studying the materials several techniques were identified which artists use when working with the heritage of the avant-garde. The artworks which were chosen and included in the research inherit, develop, rethink or appropriate avant-garde visual language and philosophical ideas.
