Legal Issues of Use the Open Source Software for the Development of the Proprietary Software

This research is devoted to the  consideration of the  relevant and controversial issues, relating to the use of the open source software  for the development of the proprietary software. The author considers the legal issues of the  open source licenses compatibility that can emerge as a result of the  usage of more than one open source software for the development of one proprietary software. This research presents a table-guide with an overview of the most common open licenses and  recommendations on how to use the appropriate open source software in proprietary software. Special attention is drawn to the analysis of the responsibility for the  open licenses violations on the basis of the  foreign case law.
