The Use of Decision Support System based on Simulation Modeling in the Automotive Delivery of Goods

A project has been developed to create a simulation model of business processes for a freight forwarding company. The analysis of the Russian experience of road transport of goods delivery. Investigated, analyzed and classified types of decision support systems based on simulation. A typical organizational structure of the target company has been developed. The analysis of the current state of freight in Russia. A logical-structural matrix was compiled, a project team was defined. The analysis of the work of the target company collected the necessary data. Based on this, weaknesses were identified and simulation models were developed in the Arena software product “as is” and “as it should be”.
