Socio-Economic and Political Factors of Voting for Authorities in Power during Regional Elections 2018

This paper examines the socio-economic and political factors that determined the results of elections at the regional level in the framework of the single voting day of 2018. The relevance of the work lies in a phenomenon unique to the modern history of Russia, when incumbents lost gubernatorial elections and lost an absolute majority in regional parliaments of several regions at once. The aim of the study is to analyze the factors influencing the election result and the identification of those factors that had the greatest impact on the election results.
