Measurement of emotions is an actual scientific task. In this study, we are trying a new tool for self-assessment of emotions. This tool is a slider. The slider has already been used in studies of emotions in Canada. It proved to be a tool sensitive to individual psychological differences. In addition, as a result of the last survey (in which respondents were asked to take a test not only for themselves, but also for another gender), the following was revealed. Men taking the test for women were more likely to give answers that were similar to the real answers of women. We localized the Canadian version of the experiment to collect data from Russian-speaking respondents and compare the results. We found out that the tool is really sensitive to emotional differences, in particular, to the level of shyness and sociability. In addition, the result of the last Canadian study repeated. All this allows us to say with confidence that the slider is a quality tool for assessing emotions, and research in this area should be continued - especially on the material of the Russian language, due to the relevance of this topic for scientific purposes.
