Educational Programme: Electronic Engineering (Master)

Final Grade: 9

Year of Graduation: 2019

This work presents a review of existing methods for measuring polarization mode dispersion. The experience of foreign metrology institutes in this issue was also analyzed. The optimal measurement scheme for PMD was chosen to improve the State Primary Special Reference Unit of PMD in the GET 185-2010 optical fiber. A model of a controller for the polarization state of optical radiation was also implemented in accordance with the manufactured design documentation, its adjustment was carried out for the installation of fiber-optic radiation input / output systems, and gluing of lenses. A quantitative estimate of the attenuation of optical radiation was obtained, and the subsequent use of a polarization state controller in the improvement of reference equipment was approved
