Data Journalism
(Master’s programme)
9
2019
The research field of the study encompasses the level of suicides in the world in the context of the main socio-economic and mental health indices. The novelty of the research approach consists in the comprehensive analysis of suicide and homicide levels as indicators of social disintegration and the level of “happiness” as a index with an opposite sense. The reliability of the results obtained by statistical analysis is achieved through the appliance of the cluster approach, i.e. division of countries into income groups. The paper also presents a sex-age suicide analysis.
