This paper examines the influence of R&D cooperation on Russian companies’ performance. It analyzes three types: collaboration with partners, research universities and the government. The main method of this study is a regression analysis of panel data with fixed effects. We consider a sample of Russian companies in the period 2011 – 2015. The results of the study confirmed the effectiveness of cooperation in R&D with partners, while there was no impact of collaboration in R&D with research centers and with the government. The conclusion indicates that cooperation in R&D is effective only when interacting with other companies.
