Restriction of the Voting Rights of Convicts: Global Experience

In this paper, an attempt is made to study the admissibility of a defeat in the active electoral law of a certain group of persons convicted in our case. By using the method of analyzing the decisions of several jurisdictions in which a dispute has arisen over the law in recent years. Each of these decisions reiterated the need to guarantee the fundamental rights of persons in custody in a democracy. It can be assumed that in the states different models of restricting the electoral rights of convicts are used depending on differences in their historical development, cultural diversity and political thought. The following models are considered: liberal, standard and conservative.
