Political Сrisis in 1968 in Poland: Historical Memory and Memorization Practics in Poland and Russia

Polish events of 1968 are generally known inside the country. The play “Forefathers’ Eve” of Adam Mickiewicz that was staged by Kazimer Dejmek was forbidden by polish authorities which provoked student’s strikes all over the country. Mythology patterns of the play turn out to be connected with political events of 1968 in Poland and integrate student’s revolt in the narrative of polish liberation, a theme actual from Mickiewicz to “Solidarity”. In the thesis author analyses the background and sources of politic crise of Poland in 1968, finds and describes the connection between these events and influence of USSR. Using practice of Memory Studies, basing on archives, diaries and other documents, we find and describe soviet-polish «historical memory» about 1968 and their impact on the Soviet Union and Poland.
