Development of Automated System for Transport Logistics Management

In this thesis, a comprehensive study of the Russian market of road cargo transportation was conducted. The analysis of the volume and structure of the market, freight classification, used resources and the main problems of the industry were carried out. The identification and formalization of the main business processes of the subject area were organized, as well as an overview of information systems designed for their automation. The analysis revealed the need to create a new automated system for transport logistics management. The uniqueness of the new business model lies in the simultaneous provision of a platform for the integration of various logistics counterparties and functionality for the effective implementation of the processes of planning and dispatching cargo transportation. The text presents excerpts from the implementation of the system that was developed by the logistics software producer with the participation of thesis author. Detailed description of the processing transportation applications algorithms is provided – applications’ creation and distribution of transportation contractors on submitted applications. At the end of the thesis, based on the results of the trial operation, the calculation and analysis of the economic efficiency indicators of the implemented solution was carried out in the context of both reducing the operating costs of freight customers and improving the efficiency of transportation contractors. In addition, proposals for improving the developed system are presented.
