Development of Transport Activities in a Wholesale Company

The object of the study is the wholesale company «Milk+». The subject of the research is the organization of the transportation process and the functional features of managing own car park. The purpose of the planned project is to develop a list of recommendations for the improvement of transport activities in a wholesale company, also to identify the main problems the company faces and the reasons for occurrence. In order to achieve these goals the following objectives will be set: • To study all the activities of the focus company, the company's product range (characteristics and specific features of products), main suppliers and customers, the competitive environment, financial and economic indicators, as well as market position; • To analyze all logistics activities in the focus company (organization of the work of its own fleet); • To identify the main problems related to the company's transport activities; • To explore methods and best practices in the existing specialized literature to improve and to develop transport processes in the focus company; • To compare findings of literature analysis to reveal the most suitable one for implementation in the focus company; • To introduce a list of recommendations for the focus company; • Evaluation of the economic efficiency of the proposed solutions; Recommendations: implementation of TMS subsystems to optimize the operations of the company's own fleet.
