Improving of the Woodworking Enterprise's Logistics Activities

In all times wooden materials has been playing a very important role in the history of our civilization. It was used by people as a fuel, building materials, stationery and many more. For many years we have learned how to use other materials for architecture, invented new sources of fuels and significantly improved our way of living, but we still use it in a big amount in the same spheres. That is why wood-processing enterprises take a very important place in the economy of the modern world. The paper discusses one of the companies from this sphere. It is crucial to organize the process of optimization concerning logistics in every sphere and company. It helps not to waste a lot of financial resources and have stable relationships with consumers. It makes company a very good player on the market. The main approaches are considered to improve the logistics activities of the company X, mostly regarding warehousing, purchasing of raw materials and internal transportation of raw products and finished products within the company’s X territory. Moreover, the organization under review has some additional problems to solve: unstable staff relationships and the conservative style of working which create more obstacles to come up with the solution. In addition, there is a not solved issue of the manufacturing plan which is tough to be created without personnel with qualified knowledge. This paper suggests several recommendations to optimize the logistics activities of the company with a help of forecasting method, changing the politics of purchasing raw materials and new approaches to the stuff qualification and motivation development with a help of additional investment in all of these issues. Finding of the solution is burdened with the fact of working with timber in natural circumstances. It makes this sphere to face a challenge of optimization within the sphere of logistics.
