Educational Programme: Philosophy and History of Religion (Master)

The study is devoted to the consideration of two approaches in the study of religion: the traditionalist school and the Eranos circle. In the course of the study, two approaches are compared with each other, and also put in the context of the studies of religion in the 20th century (in particular of the phenomenology of religion). They are given general characteristics, such as religionism and mytocentrism. The studies of the two groups reveal similar strategies and research narratives. Generalizations are made about the nature of the research construct of "esotericism" common to both approaches. The existence of a common meta-theoretical framework is stated.
