Nowadays identification and promotion of gifted children is one of the priority in the field of educational policy. The system of work with gifted children in the Republic of Udmurtia is considered as a case study. In the first stage of this research, the main systematic problems encountered by the participants of the educational process during the implementation of the program to identify, develop and support gifted children were identified. One of the problem was a low awareness and lack of understanding of the processes taking place in the educational system. The cause of the problem in current situation can be serve as a low intensity of coverage of events from education in the media. Therefore, at the second stage, publications in regional online media were analyzed on the topic highlighting the work of resource centers for working with the gifted children from 2012 to 2019. This period is attributable to the formation of the distribution system resource centers in the region. As a result of the study, the features of online media coverage of the current work with gifted children were identified, and some methodological recommendations were developed for solving actual problems in covering modern educational process at regional level.
