With the increasing automation of the industrial sector, energy resources consumption has dramatically increased. This dictates the need for smarter energy management. This paper will propose the development of the Energy Monitoring and Management System model considered being implemented at an industrial facility – Volvo Truck Plant located at Kaluga. This instrument allows monitoring energy parameters of the production machines and therefore provides the information about how, where and when the energy is being utilized. An EMMS combines hardware, software and data analysis to support people in their attempts to daily monitor energy use in the production areas and manage it effectively optimizing production costs. The research suggests some possible technical tools for the system design and means of its deployment. It reviews the system which is implemented at the plant for the moment, proposes the means of its modernization and provides the structural schematic of the new system with the basic work algorithms.
