The paper "The use of fairy tales and myths in analytical therapy" is devoted to studying the role of archaic images from fairy tales and myths in analytical therapy as an important resource in clinical practice and development of analytical thinking. The tasks of this research included covering the theoretical foundations of the image and symbol formation in the process of psychoanalytic treatment. The research has a practical application and promotes implementation of practical treatment goals. The deep scientific analysis of the use of myths and images in analytical therapy based on the example of specific psychotherapeutic cases enables beginning and experienced analysts to understand better how they can apply this method in their clinical practice. A theoretical review showed that, on the one hand, myths shed light on work with the patient; on the other hand, clinical practice broadens and deepens the understanding of mythological stories. A more in-depth study of the use of myths and fairy tales in analytical therapy will allow the practicing analyst to improve the psychotherapeutic work with the client.
